Breast augmentation - indications for the procedure

Breast augmentation surgery is most often performed for aesthetic reasons - to improve the proportion, shape, volume and size of the breast (for example, in women in the postpartum period who had deformities or breast enlargement / reduction). Treatment is also carried out for patients who, for various reasons, need replacement of prostheses (after previous implantations).

Breast reconstruction is performed for women after mastectomy or trauma (loss of tissue). The surgical procedure for medical reasons also includes cases of birth defects (breast hypoplasia, for example, lumpy breasts, Poland syndrome). Symmetrization procedures are recommended for patients with significant breast asymmetry. Remember that a slight asymmetry of the right and left mammary glands is physiological and is observed in most women.

Breast augmentation with implants

The implant shell is made of reinforced elastomer, which increases the resistance and durability of the structure and is an effective barrier to the filling substance. There are many classifications of breast implants. According to the type of filling, they are divided into filled with silicone gel (the most commonly used) or filled with saline solution.

Less commonly used saline implants contain 0.9 percent aqueous sodium chloride solution, neutral to the body, but with a higher risk of leakage (and rapid absorption of saline by the body). The effect of such a complication is not difficult to imagine.

The shape separation makes it possible to distinguish between anatomical and round implants.

Anatomical implants are prostheses of a certain shape that expand downwards - usually in the form of a drop. This kind of insole fits the figure well. After using them, the breasts seem natural - with a thinner upper pole and a fuller lower pole.

Their filling is usually a thick silicone gel, which increases the safety of the prostheses and easily returns to its original shape (after deformation). At the same time, it should be borne in mind that there may be a risk of rotation and displacement of implants (in such cases, surgical intervention may be required).

Round implants are more symmetrical than anatomical ones - their "round" shape creates the impression of a "raised" bust: the effect of a full upper and lower pole. bitqt
