Tips for Completing Metro: Last Light - Main Story #56

Start aiming now at the wheels of the tank with your rifle until you destroy them. Finally, keep shooting at the main part of the tank, that is, in the area next to the reflectors. You must destroy the enemy squad soon.

Turn left and go to the wall, which functions as the last barricade. Jump over it and inspect the area on the right. There is the last page of Artyom's diary on the drawers.

Replenish your ammunition and take a minigun (it's best to replace the pistol with one that you haven't used in previous battles).

Sit down next to the wall you just jumped over, wait for new troops to arrive, and unload your minigun at them. As much as possible, try shooting short bursts (you no longer need to aim at heads) and eliminate, firstly, those who are noticeably approaching the barricade. Keep attacking until the next explosion.

There are rather unclear prerequisites when it comes to the last phase of the battle. There is nothing you can do to make the soldiers with shields approach the barricade significantly, because a soldier wielding a flamethrower who follows them will set fire to the place, which will kill you and others.

Note - You can now start destroying enemy soldiers, even if you want to unlock an achievement so that you don't kill anyone.

Prepare a weapon with a scope (sniper rifle or assault rifle) and aim it at the enemy soldiers. Please note that thanks to the zoom feature, you can aim at small holes on enemy shields. Thanks to this, you will be able to take the soldier behind an individual shield and kill him.

Keep killing protected enemy soldiers (sometimes you can also throw a fragmentation grenade so they can play), which will cause the enemy lines to break through. Ultimately, you need to destroy every soldier with a shield. Interestingly, you don't need to pay extra attention to the soldier with the flamethrower, because, deprived of any reinforcements or shelter, he will soon die.

Note. I recommend that you start reading the next chapter of this guide, titled Endings, which describes the possible ending of your adventure, as well as the possible impact you can have on it.

Endings

The game has two endings, and they are displayed immediately after you deal with the last wave of enemies. The opening parts for both ends are identical, and they represent the approaching train and Korbut's monologue (after Artyom regains consciousness), whose troops managed to capture every defender of the station. The endings "split" when Korbut approaches you, and Miller urges Artyom to blow up the charges that were set there. These are the available options (SPOILER ALERT!)

The good ending is that the Dark One stops Artyom from exploding the charges. Other adult Dark Ones appear around, and they deal with Korbut and his subordinates.
